Tanjung Rhu Resort sits on its own stretch of Tanjung Rhu beach in Mukim Ayer Hangat, on Langkawi's quieter north coast, a long way from the bars of Pantai Cenang. Day visitors get the resort's pools, framed by palms and casuarina trees, with deckchairs, orange parasols and the white-sand beach a few steps away.
The day pass is sold through Klook at around US$60 and runs from 11am to 7pm. It includes a towel, pool access and a deckchair, plus RM150 of food credit at Sands restaurant and RM50 for drinks; children get RM75 and RM25. The pass is valid only on the date chosen and cannot be refunded, and children must be at least four.
There is no music programme; this is a slow, scenic day for couples and families. Loungers by the pools can run short at busy times, so arrive close to opening, and allow for the 30-minute drive from Kuah or the airport.
Bed prices and opening times move with the seasons, so confirm with the club before you set off.
Want the front row? Beds by the water go first at weekends and in high season.
