Sol Marina Beach Club is the beachfront tapas and cocktail spot at Mövenpick Resort & Spa Boracay, set on the 150-metre semi-private sand of Punta Bunga Cove at the quieter northern end of the island. Day visitors come in on the resort's day pass, which opens up the 3,300 sq m multi-level swimming pool as well as the beach, with sun beds, towels and showers provided.

The pass costs PHP 2,000 net per person and runs from 10am to 9pm. It includes a welcome drink and PHP 1,600 in dining and spa credits, and there is a happy hour at Sol Marina from 4pm to 6pm. Evenings may bring DJ sessions and fire dancing, subject to availability, while daytime activities include aqua aerobics, Zumba and tinikling.

It suits families and couples who want a calm, full-service day rather than a party. Reservations are encouraged, walk-ins are usually accepted, and groups of more than 20 must pre-order meals 48 hours ahead. Blackout dates apply over the Christmas, New Year and mid-February peaks.

Bed prices and opening times move with the seasons, so confirm with the club before you set off.
