Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu sits on Punta Engaño Road at the northern tip of Mactan Island in Lapu-Lapu City. The centrepiece is a 100-metre infinity pool with thatched-roof bar and rattan loungers, looking across the water towards Cebu, plus a rainforest pool, a seafront boardwalk and a small sandy beach.
Non-guests come in on a day-use package that runs from 9am to 6pm, with the beach open until 5pm. It costs PHP 2,150 per adult on weekdays and PHP 2,850 at weekends, with children at half price and under-sixes free with a paying adult. Each day comes with a meal that changes by day, from lunch at Sunset Sports Bar to Thai at Benjarong or the Saturday buffet. Book ahead with the resort or through Klook.
There are no DJs; this is a calm family day with towels, showers and changing rooms included. The beach is small and the tide can go out a long way in the afternoon, so plan on the pools rather than sea swimming.
Bed prices and opening times move with the seasons, so confirm with the club before you set off.
