JPark Island Resort & Waterpark is a large family resort on the Maribago coast of Mactan Island in Lapu-Lapu City. The draw is the waterpark: a lazy river, a wave pool, giant slides and several themed pools, including a Sunset Pool, plus a stretch of sand with loungers and umbrellas facing the channel.

Non-guests pay at the day-use counter, open 9am to 5pm, and no reservation is needed. The day pass costs PHP 3,500 per adult and includes lunch or dinner at The Abalone, with children aged 7 to 12 at PHP 1,750 and under-sevens free. It covers all the pools, the slides and the beach. Cheaper pool-only passes have been sold on some days, so ask what is on offer when you arrive.

This is a busy family day out rather than a party, at its fullest at weekends and over school holidays. Arrive near opening time to claim loungers, and bring rash vests for children, as the slides and lazy river can fill up by late morning.

Bed prices and opening times move with the seasons, so confirm with the club before you set off.
