Plantation Bay Resort and Spa sits in Marigondon on the south-east coast of Mactan Island in Lapu-Lapu City. Instead of a single pool, the resort is built around several hectares of saltwater lagoons with white-sand edges, palm-shaded loungers, small islands and freshwater pools, so a day here feels more like a beach than a hotel deck.
Non-guests come in on the Daytripper Adventure package at PHP 2,500 nett per adult, with children up to 12 at half price and PHP 2,000 per head for groups of 20 or more. It includes lunch with a drink, the lagoons and pools, 30 minutes of cycling, 15 minutes on a kayak or stand-up paddleboard, wall climbing at set hours, games and showers. Reserve through the resort; walk-ins are accepted when there is space.
There are no DJs and the resort keeps strict rules on noise and dress, so this suits families and anyone after a calm, active day. Day use runs from about 9am to 5pm; arrive early to claim loungers by the lagoon beaches.
Bed prices and opening times move with the seasons, so confirm with the club before you set off.
Want the front row? Beds by the water go first at weekends and in high season.
