The River Club sits on the east bank of the Chao Phraya River at the end of Soi Charoen Krung 80, looking across the water towards the Rama III bridge. It comes from Watermelon Group, the team behind Rabbit Hole, Crimson Room and Canvas, and is styled as a Bali-inspired island escape: thatched pavilions, timber decking and a central swimming pool lined with sun loungers and parasols, with riverside tables along the water's edge.
The kitchen, led by a Spanish chef, mixes Isaan and Mexican flavours, with dishes such as Isaan guacamole, tom yum ceviche and moo krob tacos, alongside tropical cocktails. Afro House and Latin sounds set the mood by day, there is a Sunday boozy brunch, and Saturday evenings bring jazz by the river as the sun goes down.
It is one of the more family-minded options in the city: children can use the pool, and there is a trampoline and an air-conditioned playroom. Tables can be booked online, which is worth doing for sunset and weekends. The nearest BTS station is Saphan Taksin, from where it is a short taxi ride down Charoen Krung Road.
Bed prices and opening times move with the seasons, so confirm with the club before you set off.
