79 Beach Club and Resort sits on Bangrak Beach, facing Big Buddha across the bay. Its huge lagoon-style pool, which the club bills as the largest at any Samui beach club, wraps around a central swim-up bar, with orange-and-white sunbeds, pods and umbrellas on the deck and the sand.
Everyone is welcome, whether staying at the resort or not, but outside food and drink are not allowed. Day-pass packages for solo visitors, couples and groups include food and drink credit, while VIP sunbeds carry a THB 5,000 minimum spend for two to three people and VIP pods THB 8,000 for up to six. The pool is open to beach club guests from 11am to 8pm, and lockers cost THB 200.
Expect DJs, sunset sessions, a ladies' day offer and a fire show on the beach every Sunday. Children are welcome in the daytime and use the outer pool section, so it works for families early on and for groups later.
Bed prices and opening times move with the seasons, so confirm with the club before you set off.
