Beach Republic sits at the quieter north end of Lamai Beach, where its trademark red day beds, cabanas and loungers line the sand beside an ocean-view infinity pool. It opened in 2010 and was one of Samui's first beach clubs; today it combines the Ocean Club and beach café with private pool villas and suites.
The beach café is open every day from 8am to 9pm, serving Thai dishes, Angus beef burgers, tapas and a newer Mexican menu, with a good choice of beer, wine and cocktails including the house Kohpirinha. The club has long been known for its Sunday Sessions brunch, and it hosts guest DJs and special events through the year.
Non-guests are welcome to use the beach club; ask about any minimum spend on the beds when you arrive. It suits couples and families who want a calm, stylish beach day away from Chaweng, around 30 minutes from the airport.
Bed prices and opening times move with the seasons, so confirm with the club before you set off.
