Jakarta isn’t a beach city, but you don’t have to go far. PIK 2 on the north coast has a modern beach club on the water, and the Thousand Islands, an hour or two by boat from Marina Ancol, have island beach clubs sold as day trips with the crossing included.

Island trips are usually booked by WhatsApp, and boats leave early, so plan ahead.
